Meet Clarke
All right, Mr. Petographer, I'm ready for my close up!
I create fun, genuine, and intimate images of beloved pets (and their pet parents). In order to create these images, my top priority is trust and comfort. Most of my sessions do not have time caps in order to allow for your pet to be fully comfortable in front of my camera, and allowing your pet to become acclimated to the session space is a must!
I have many years of experience with animals, and have learned that they are always communicating with us. Patience and listening to animals are skills I highly value and implement during my photo session, and my images are a testament to the importance of those values.
It's more than just a photo
It's moments in time that capture your story, bond, and love
Do you consider your pet your best friend or close family member? Who said photo albums are just for people! You will absolutely want beautifully preserved memories to treasure for years to come starring your beloved companion. I am so excited to be able to capture images that encapsulate the personality that you know so well. Sassy, sweet, bratty, goofy, deviously smart and so much more. Your gaze is my command!
Hey, I'm Clarke!
The Petographer
Hi, I am Clarke, but I may be better known as Calypso’s Dad (Calypso is my vivacious tortie kitten). With 25 years of experience with animals and a BFA in photography from SAIC, I have the knowledge and skill set to deliver fun pet photo sessions that yield spunky, artistic, and sentimental results. Previous to becoming a pet photographer, I worked as an editorial fashion photographer and wedding photographer. These genres have contributed to my eye for detail and creativity when looking through the lens I am using to capture your beloved pet.
Photography has a tumultuous history and genres with questionable ethics that had left the artform feeling empty, that had once been filled with so much euphoria for me. So along came the search of wanting to photograph something that would elicit joy. While photographing my cat one day it hit me! When I look at my pets, my worries are put on hold and everything is suddenly okay and I know many people share that experience with me. Without a second thought, Petography was born.
